During the 2005 UK General Election and the 2006 local elections, we asked you to register a highly visible and damaging protest vote against Tony Blair, his style of government, his right-wing leanings, and his lies about the 'war' on terror and Iraq.

Thank you

We now have a copy of every single invoice/receipt/document from the recent Labour party campaign expenditure return. It may take us a while to sort through it all. Please bear with us.

It looks beautiful. I give you till the end of the summer to have the interface like the astonishing http://www.opensecrets.org/

I thought the FOIA had a provision that you could obtain the data in any form that was convenient, including on a CD, if it was data prepared on a computer. Does this not apply to donation information?

We're taking the summary document and details from the invoices and putting them all into one easy-to-use database. The original Excel summary document would be useful on this front, but not terribly so.

Any chance of scanning them and publishing somewhere at 360 dpi. I am sure there would be lots of people prepared to help OCR them etc.

Heya Dick. Shot anyone in the face today? There's a few reasons why we've decided not to do this, but one practical one is that - for most of the invoices - it takes just as long to scan and publish as a JPEG as it takes to type the relevant contents... and the summary docs prove to be useless on OCR, too.. itty-bitty text. Oh, and there's a bunch of handwritten notes that we're picking up along the way. Oh, and the process leads to one wanting to type all night and all day and not stop for a line-break until you've complete the cell. Aaaaand... relax.
