We're making enemies faster than we can kill them
Observer - Leak reveals official story of London bombings: The official inquiry into the 7 July London bombings will say the attack was planned on a shoestring budget from information on the internet, that there was no 'fifth-bomber' and no direct support from al-Qaeda, although two of the bombers had visited Pakistan... According to the report, the attacks were largely motivated by concerns over foreign policy and the perception that it was deliberately anti-Muslim, although the four men were also driven by the promise of immortality.

Well... Another nail into Labour's 'of course the war in Iraq hasn't created more terrorism' coffin.
No doubt the findings will be spun to create more excuses for reductions in privacy/civil-liberties in the name of 'security' however.
Am I too cynical?
jherad - you have a mild case of cynicism. The 'findings' make mention of the 'fact' that the alleged perps simply used the internet to hatch and presumably execute their dastardly scheme. What do you reckon to pc liar blair's hitherto stated desire to "control access to the internet" as one of the liberties to come under scrutiny? The internet is the one remaining realm where information and views can still be readily accessed and exchanged. I'm off to the bookies to place my bet on attempts forthcoming to instigate measures to curtail our last bastion of freedom. Worth a tenner, don't you think?
